Alliance Headquarters in Atlanta was deeply saddened by the recent events in Haiti. As soon as Master Jacare saw the tragic destruction he decided that Alliance had to help. With this in mind Jacare immediately started searching for ways to assist the relief efforts. From this search it was decided to have a charity tournament with all the proceeds going to the Haiti relief effort; by way of the Red Cross.
The tournament is scheduled for February 20th, 2010. After the call to compete went out 106 competitors signed up. Each of these individuals pledged to donate $10 to the charity effort. In addition to the tournament Jacare has put a special edition Alliance leather jacket up for raffle. The goal is to raise over $1000, with all the tournament fees this goal is well within reach. Jacare, Cobrinha, and many others are giving up their free time to provide scoring, refereeing, and coaching. The owners of Lutador Grappling are providing the brackets and podiums free of charge.
Jacare has brought together all of these people with the single goal of helping the less fortunate. The response has been tremendous. February 20th will be a special day at Alliance.
